Sprint 3 - settling down pickles with cocopeat

The real fun starts from this stage and most of the time the bucks stop here for your Go, No-Go decision. If done properly couple of times, it will be easy and less fussy even for beginners. First check the bin (when using close air composting) for the liquid fertilizers and carefully drain them into size appropriate bottle. Here, make sure to fill the bottle completely without any air pocket, you can mix water to make it full. Once the potion is drained, pickles are ready to be mixed with cocopeat inside the plastic bucket.

You need to expand the cocopeat block into a tub or on the floor by breaking them into small pieces and spraying water onto them. You can keep them aside for sometime to absorb the water properly and become soft to use. Make a thin layer of cocopeat at the bottom of plastic bucket and start pouring the pickled wet waste on top of it. Add another layer of cocopeat and mildly mix it with the pickles. Repeat this process until you empty the composting bin. Add a thick layer of cocopeat on the top of bucket to protect it from house fly and gnats and also prevent any foul smell coming out form the bucket. Finally cover this with few layers of papers and park it in dry shadow area for the decomposition process. Two to three weeks time is sufficient for complete decomposition, but you can keep it for a month to align with the pickling time and repeat the process in sync.
